Wilsons Pocket near Gympie
This will be an exciting day out at Marc Russell’s 40acre property on Tinana Creek. Vegetation ranges from rainforest on the creek to Spotted Gum forest on the upper slopes. Threatened species include Giant Barred Frog, Mary River Cod, Archidendron lovelliae and Pineapple Zamia. We will spend a couple of hours weeding lantana and easier weeds, have lunch and then enjoy a walk and talk workshop with Marc who is renowned for his ecological knowledge of vegetation in this region. Morning tea provided but bring your lunch.
Car pool at the back of the IGA carpark in Maleny at 7.30 am, or get picked up on the way, or travel independently (call 5429 6622 for directions) for a 9.30 am start.
All tools will be provided. Bring gloves, water, boots, sunscreen and insect repellent. Long-sleeved shirt, trousers and hat are essential (Work Place Health and Safety Regulations).
