Be part of the greening of the
Maleny Community Precinct

Each year, a public tree plant is held to give the community a chance to be part of the 'greening of the Precinct'.

This year will be bigger then ever. We're not just planting  - we're celebrating, BBQíng and sharing stories.

With the weather promising to be glorious, we look forward to a productive working bee on the Maleny Community Precinct planting young rainforest trees in the riparian zone.

Drive to the site via the gate opposite the Barung Nursery entrance in Porters Lane. You will be directed to the parking area not far from where the trees will be planted. The grass will be freshly slashed.

Please arrive a bit early so we can move down to the site and start on time. If you arrive late, please make your own way down to the location.

We hope to have some roving minstrel entertainment for you. This is a child friendly event so please bring along the whole family and encourage your friends to come along as well.

We will be planting into well drilled holes so the ground will be easy to work with, and there will be mulch mats, stakes and guards there as well. Nothing too strenuous, and only for a few hours. A chance to meet up with other like minded people and help out our environment. Expert guidance will be on hand if you are new to planting trees.

Morning tea will give us a chance to catch up on what's happening on the Precinct. Hear local wildlife experts talk about the critters we will be attracting with the rainforest species we plant.

Please wear good gardening shoes, sunglasses, long sleeved shirt to keep out the sun, bring a hat, water, and your fave gardening gloves and small trowel (optional). We will provide sunscreen (if needed), new gloves, tools and everything else needed.
