 Revegetating the Range

A Barung Project funded by BMRG through Healthy Habitats funding

Planning, Preparation & Commitment
with Greg Smyrell

Barung is running the third workshop in the Revegetating the Range series on Wednesday 5th of October, presented by Greg Smyrell.  This workshop will be held on a private property at Flaxton, as will the remaining workshops in the Revegetating the Range series.

Planning, Preparation & Commitment will begin with a talk by the property's owner; he will discuss his experience and some of the lessons learned from 20 years of rainforest restoration activities on the property.

Greg will introduce the group to a range of general restoration design principles including aspects such as,
# Understanding landscapes and specific sites
# Identifying a control site or sites
# Understanding natural processes, e.g., succession, stasis, etc.,
# Plants - culture, species selection, dominances, nursery stock.

We will then develop a restoration plan appropriate to the chosen revegetation site on the property.

Morning tea will be supplied
